CCR Editor in Chief - call for nominations
CCR was launched in 2019 as the journal of the ICA Computational Methods division and has grown into a successful and established journal in our field. It is indexed by DOAJ and Scopus and received over 150 submissions in 2025 and averaged almost 100 submissions per year in the past 3 years. The journal is diamond open access, completely free, community owned and community supported. We don’t have a large professional organization, but do have an active and enthusiastic team of associate, reproducibility, and assistant editors. See https://journal.computationalcommunication.org/ for more information. After 7 years it is time for the founding Editor-in-Chief to step down, so we are looking for a new Editor-in-Chief.
What are we looking for?
- An established and enthusiastic computational communication scientist who is motivated to lead our journal in the next phase, with:
- A clear vision on where the field, and the journal, should go in the coming years;
- Openness to methodological diversity;
- The necessary seniority to take both popular and unpopular decisions.
- We value diversity and inclusivity.
Details of the position
- The term in office is 4 years starting at ICA 2026, with the possibility of a second term.
- In consultation with the associate editors, the EiC decides on special issues, changes to the journal and editorial policies, and general direction of the journal.
- Together with the associate editors, the Editor-in-Chief edits and takes decisions on all incoming submissions.
- There is no financial compensation from the journal.
Procedure
- Self-nominations are welcome.
